Out two girls, age 12 and 14, have been under Ms Nora's tutorage for a number of years now. Girls really enjoyed Mandarin at their school, however, the weekly half-hour lesson simply wasn't enough to progress. Ms Nora came highly recommended and we have never looked back. Ms Nora is lovely. She is very organised and follows textbooks and workbooks that are suitable for their age and level of Mandarin. Girls are doing private lessons with Ms Nora, so they are going in their own pace. Ms Nora knows their strengths and weaknesses, meaning that she can directly target their individual areas rather than brushing it over, which would occur in group lessons. Ms Nora frequently gives us, parents, feedback and extracts of their writing, which is so helpful. One of our favourite parts is also that Ms Nora is very flexible in case we are away, but also that she is happy to teach during the holidays.

We are not doing any other tutoring except with Ms Nora and we think that is definitely worth the time and money.

Mrs Nora He (He Yu) has been teaching my two daughters Mandarin Chinese language for almost nine years.

Thanking mostly to her my daughters discovered the whole new World of Chinese culture, tradition, music, literature, and made a lot of new friends in Australia and China. She introduced much, much more than curriculum about multiculturalism in Australian schools. She has been working tirelessly on interweaving all her and their knowledge and experiences to broaden their and her horizons. Thanking Mrs Nora’s unselfishness in passing her feelings for her own country of origin, her love for teaching and her respect for other people and their origins, my elder daughter chose Chinese language as her first University course, and she significantly advanced in it. The younger one, despite her interests in technical and design subjects refuses to stop with learning Chinese with her Nora Lao Shi even if her year 12 schedules are seriously packed up. The efforts students and teacher put in the process are highly respected on both sides.

Mrs Nora He is actually much more than merely Chinese high school teacher. She is a friend who understand needs, fears and dilemmas of her young students, when needed, she is a mother who criticises them for forgotten homework or not enough practising, she is a sort of treasured family member to whom we turn to find answers regarding Chinese customs and etiquette, someone with whom we share happiness and sadness in all three nations connecting us so tightly and so humanly forever.

It is a destiny, privilege, and good luck to meet such a complete person and such a devoted professional as Mrs Nora He. As a parent and as a human being I am looking forward to seeing many more successfully educated students of Mrs He and many more families enriched with Chinese culture.

I have been taking weekly lessons with Nora for some time now and I must say that I am very satisfied with my progress. Nora's teaching style is very effective and structured, which has helped me learn a lot. One of the things I enjoy most about the lessons is that we often go off on tangents, and I'm able to learn even more complicated words, terms and phrases that have helped to build up my vocabulary. Nora is also very helpful in providing feedback on my school exams, which has enabled me to understand my areas of weakness and how I can improve. Overall, I believe Nora is an excellent tutor and I am grateful for all her help.
