About Ricco
Having recently graduated from the SJI IBDP program with a grade 7 in Math SL, I understand the challenges and triumphs that come with learning complex subjects. I want to share my knowledge and experiences to help students overcome their difficulties and build their confidence in mathematics. Having previously interned in Saint Joseph Institution Junior as an assistant teacher, I find great fulfillment in watching students grow, not just in their understanding of math, but also in their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. By fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment, I aim to empower students to reach their full potential and develop a lifelong appreciation for learning.

As a private tutor, my lesson plan focuses on enhancing students' understanding of mathematics through a balanced approach that emphasizes 10% memorization and 90% practice.
- I will review key concepts relevant to the day's lesson, engaging students in a discussion about specific areas they find challenging.
- I will introduce essential formulas or theorems that students need to memorize. The core of the lesson consists of guided practice, where we work through example problems together, encouraging students to articulate their thought processes.
- To address difficult questions, I invite students to share specific problems they encounter in their schoolwork. We collaboratively analyze these problems, identify relevant concepts, and solve them step-by-step, discussing common pitfalls along the way.
- At the end of each session, I summarize the key concepts covered, reinforcing the importance of practice and providing additional resources for further study.
- Homework assignments are given to reinforce the day’s lessons, encouraging students to bring any questions to the next session.
