About Giovanni
I began studying classical guitar at the age of 10 at a private school in Mottola (TA). After completing middle school with a focus on music, while simultaneously attending high school for languages, I enrolled at the 'Giovanni Paisiello' Conservatory in Taranto in the class of M° Andrea Monarda, where I graduated in 2024 with top marks and honors at the First Academic Level. I am currently attending the Second Academic Level in Guitar at the 'Vecchi - Tonelli' Conservatory in Modena in the class of M° Andrea Dieci. From a very young age, I have been awarded prizes in national and international competitions in Italy and abroad: 1st absolute prize at the 'Domenico Savino' and 'Musica Mundi' International Competitions in Taranto; 2 times 1st prize at the 2019 and 2021 Mediterraneo International Competition in Bari; 1st prize at the KTTNB Guitar Contest in Riga, Latvia; 1st prize at the 'Città di Barletta' International Competition; 2 times 1st absolute prize at the 'Musicarte' International Competition in Tiggiano (LE) 2021 and 2022; 2nd prize at the 'La Chitarra Volante' National Competition in Gallipoli (LE); 2nd prize at the 'Domenico Colucci' International Competition in Fasano (BR); 2nd prize at the 'Alirio Diaz' International Competition in Rome; 2nd prize at the 'Premio LAMS' International Competition in Matera; 2nd prize at the 'Ansaldi' National Competition in Mondovì (CU); 2nd prize ex-aequo at the 2024 Lago d'Orta Guitar Master Competition. I have also taken part in many masterclasses with internationally renowned artists such as Marco Tamayo, Andrea Dieci, Paolo Pugliese, Francesco Biraghi, Lorenzo Micheli, Carlo Marchione, Antigoni Goni, Ignacio Rodes, and emerging young concert artists such as Ondrej Vesely, Eleonora Perretta, Mak Grgic, Jesse Flowers, Steve Cowan, and Lovro Peretic. In 2022, I performed in a Voice and Guitar Chamber Duo with the singers of the Rodolfo Celletti Belcanto Academy for the Paolo Grassi Foundation of Martina Franca (TA), and as a soloist in the Youth Guitar Orchestra at the 30th International Guitar Festival "Città di Mottola" after having been a member in many of the previous editions from a very young age. In 2024 I have given a solo concert for the cultural association 'Parnaso delle Muse' at the Palazzo Ducale in Martina Franca.

My method aims to challenge students to practice the instrument more than just technically. I don't want students to learn only theoretical and practical notions during the course I propose. Beyond this, I want to guide students in discovering a potential passion for the instrument, comparing the study and work we'll do together with other aspects of their daily lives. This means that every single step, movement, and technical exercise for the fingers of both hands shouldn't be understood in terms of simply making a specific movement with any finger on the string. I want students to make their creativity useful to make that small task personal in every sense, right from the start, as if it were not their first time. With this sense of creativity, my lessons are aimed to children with age between 10 and 15, but especially to those who are just starting out with the instrument.
