Hi! My name is David. I've recently moved to Cork to care for my elderly father and have been captivated by the city's beauty. I have applied for a fully funded PhD in Philosophy at Lancaster University, which I hope to begin in October. In the meantime, I am eager to use my expertise to support students in Cork through tailored tutoring. My academic journey has been driven by a deep fascination with human psychology and society at large. This passion has led me to study history, philosophy, and psychology, equipping me with the knowledge to help students develop critical thinking skills and a deeper understanding of these subjects. I am a patient and approachable tutor who prioritizes making learning engaging and accessible. I look forward to working with students and helping them achieve their academic goals!

I take a structured but flexible approach to tutoring, tailoring each lesson to the individual needs of the student. My teaching style emphasizes critical thinking, clarity, and engagement, ensuring students not only understand the material but also develop confidence in applying their knowledge. I encourage active discussion, use real-world examples, and break down complex ideas into manageable parts. Typical lesson length: one hour, but can be adjusted. I hold an MA in Philosophy from the University of Manchester, as well as a BA in History and Russian. I also possess A-Levels in Psychology and Mathematics. My lessons are for school students seeking support in Philosophy, Ethics, History, Religious Studies, or Psychology. I can also teach Mathematics to a school-leaver standard. I can assist university applicants in drafting personal statements.
