About Paulin
I am a lifelong learner. It means that I never stop learning, whether it is through formal education at school, or through life experiences. I am personable, attentive, well-rounded, and reliable. When studying or working on a team project, I am able to"lead" my team through "example", i.e., by preparing ahead, setting goals, executing to achieve, building discipline, and continuous improvement through constructive feedback. I am passionate about personal development, human psychology, science, and technology. Reading books and listening to podcasts about these subjects has given me the advantage of getting a few steps ahead, navigating the world & its system, and overcoming setbacks.
I am grateful for the privilege my professional journey has given me. My previous working experiences have equipped me with mental skills, resources/tools, and smart strategies that can be applied in all areas of life, including tutoring my students.
Thus, I look forward to transferring these "gifts" to you and coaching you to be the best version of yourself who ought to bring value into our society.

When I was in junior school, I competed in a National Science Olympiad in Bangka Belitung, Indonesia. I have also competed in a chess tournament, participated in an International Children Ambassador, and won a trophy for an English Debate with my team. In college, I received both President's List and Dean's List recognitions for 2 consecutive years as an honor student of Citrus College. Previously worked as an Instructor Teaching Assistant for a Biomedical Science High School class. I am personable, compassionate, and ready to be your coach/mentor. I love teaching and tutoring my students because it gives me the opportunity to actively learn about behavioral & cognitive science in children & adolescents, one area of research I am interested in.
I have a strong background in community service and patient care volunteering, which has sharpened my cultural diversity, inclusion, acuity, and awareness concerning my interpersonal skills toward others. I have worked as a nanny for a special need child, and it has been rewarding. Due to my versatile experiences, my approach as a tutor is to "personalize" my lesson plans, a win-win teaching methods, creative techniques, collaboration, and various practice modalities to ensure stronger comprehension in learning. I aim to bridge the gap between textbook knowledge to the prefrontal cortex of your brain, being your reliable coach, guiding you, sharing my wisdom, and leading our team in achieving our academic goals.
