I have a bachelors and masters degree in psychology with a focus in applied cognition. Much of my degree coursework has been research and performance focused, and I have spent much time studying how people perform under specific conditions. This has prepared me as an educator to observe the different factors that apply to a student's mastery and understanding of a topic. I use this knowledge to develop the best possible lesson plans for my students.

Lessons include not only reviewing course materials and reiterating the information back to the student, but a collaboration between myself and the student. the expectation is the student shows a willingness to learn and improve, while the expectations for myself are to create a lively learning environment for the student that is exciting and fun. Most of the lesson is practice based, where the student takes what they have learned in school, or in our sessions and applies that to work provided during the current session. There is an expectation that the student will be willing to provide information on what they are covering in school so I can better provide lessons for them. I have much experience working as a mathematics tutor and even more experience as a student, so I understand first hand, how difficult it can be sometimes as a student. I apply this area of thinking in every lesson.
