About William
I was quite quiet in school and struggled to speak out in class and ask for help when I needed it. I really enjoyed my subjects but my grades were stuck at a C-grade.
An older friend helped me out by teaching me how to nail the longer questions, and I found a real passion for writing (especially in history) and eventually got three As at A-level, and am about to graduate with a first class degree in history.
I aspire to become a teacher in the future and pass down the spark and confidence that my teachers and tutor gave me.
I don't yet have any formal qualifications in teaching, but have plenty of experience working with young people, and I understand how daunting the jump to GCSEs can be (as I was there just a few years ago!)
I am very friendly, and I can be of great help for students who struggle with their confidence. I can share the study methods that worked for me, as well as the ones that didn't-- I have tried them all! Every student is different, and since we will be one-to-one instead of in a class filled with disruptions, I can help you work out what works best for you so you don't spend hours pouring over notes to no avail.
My goal is to help you find your mojo so that you can go into your next exam feeling excited to show off what you know.

I will act as a friendly mentor and respond to each student's individual needs, letting them work at their own pace. I have experience working with children with additional needs, and am good at helping those struggling with confidence. My lessons can run from 1-3 hours depending on preference and I will happily provide and mark practice questions, and spend time with the student to improve their answers.
I was a student mentor in school, helping the junior students prepare for the jump to GCSE, and have done two volunteer placements as a classroom assistant for children aged 7-11.
My lessons are particularly useful for those struggling with the essay-based questions that are worth more marks, or for those struggling to maintain focus/motivation.
