About Ire
I am a positive, friendly and relatable tutor who genuinely enjoys teaching within a calm, comfortable learning environment! I love helping younger students grow in confidence and build the skills they need for future opportunities. I was inspired to start tutoring by my own 11 plus maths tutor, and I’ve carried that same supportive approach into my work
I am also very patient, and work well with children, always adapting my teaching style to suit each individual. I break tasks into clear, manageable steps so learning feels achievable and not overwhelming. I’m experienced in guiding students through their mistakes, helping them understand why something went wrong so they can strengthen their knowledge and move forward more confidently.

I start by working with my students to ascertain their current knowledge, then make a practical, hands-on plan with them to help achieve their goals. I provide practical tools & tips to enable retention and practical application of the lessons I teach.
I wrote 11 plus exams myself during the pandemic in 2020 and achieved highly. Due to my determination to do well, I dedicated adequate time to independent learning and the work set by my tutor. I secured a year 7 place in a top grammar school despite being out of catchment and having missed a big chunk of school due to the lockdowns. I have since written multiple exams including GCSEs, and ready to transfer my knowledge to younger ones.
I dedicate a portion of my tutoring sessions to explain a pre-planned PowerPoint presentation of the topic with my student. Then set them a engaging tasks to check their understanding - this can be through quizzes on Wayground, past questions or other questions that I have carefully selected. Next we go through corrections and how to apply in future. I can set home work depending on preference.
My lessons last 1 hour. I am flexible and can tailor my pace to the needs of my students, providing the right amount of challenge. I can carry out multiple sessions in a week, if needed.
