About Ethan
Over the last 8 years, I have had the privilege of helping school and college students develop their guitar skills, fostering their love for music, and supporting their personal growth. I strongly believe that every student has a unique musical voice, and my role as a teacher is to help them discover and develop that voice. I approach each lesson with a balance of music theory, technique, and creativity, making sure that my students stay engaged and excited about their learning. One of my most rewarding teaching moments was watching a group of students go from beginners to a full-fledged band, performing at local festivals and events. It was amazing to see their transformation as musicians, from their first hesitant notes to their confident performances. That experience showed me how learning the guitar can do so much more than teach technical skills—it helps students grow emotionally and build valuable life skills, such as teamwork, perseverance, and confidence. The guitar becomes a tool for self-expression and personal development, and seeing students gain these benefits has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my teaching career. I am proud to be part of their musical journeys, helping them not only develop their guitar skills but also become stronger, more confident individuals.

With over eight years of guitar teaching experience and a degree in Music Education, I’ve learned that every student’s journey is unique, which is why I personalize every lesson to fit their individual needs and aspirations. I begin with a focus on building a strong technical foundation—focusing on posture, hand positioning, rhythm, and finger strength—so students can play comfortably and efficiently.
Once these fundamentals are in place, I tailor the lessons to the student’s musical interests, whether they want to learn their favorite songs, study classical guitar, or explore genres like jazz, rock, or blues. I also integrate music theory into lessons in a practical and fun way, helping students understand the building blocks of the music they’re learning and how to apply them to their own playing.
For students interested in songwriting or improvisation, I provide exercises and prompts that encourage creativity and help them develop their musical voice. I work closely with performance-focused students to build confidence, stage presence, and refine their technique.
To enhance the learning experience, I also use modern tools like online tuners, metronomes, and apps to keep students motivated and on track with their goals.
