About Evelyn
Everything starts with the physical reality of the instrument in your lap. I often demonstrate a chord voicing, then ask you to replicate the tension in your own hands. We spend time on ear training to bridge the gap between what you hear and what you play.
Tuning and maintenance checks happen every time we sit down to ensure your gear supports your progress. Blues progressions and power chords form the foundation for many of the students I support. We shift to improvisation and soloing once your fingers feel comfortable navigating the fretboard.
You will find that music theory is not an abstract concept here. It is a live tool for your creative expression. We cover grade exam prep if you are working toward specific qualifications. Keep practicing.

Growing up in Santiago shaped my perspective on the deep connection between sound and storytelling. I hold a Licenciatura en Guitarra Flamenca from Mexico along with a degree from Berklee College of Music. My 17 years of experience teaching have been spent guiding 434 students through the complexities of the fretboard. Whether we are dissecting blues progressions or mastering electric technique, I treat every session with technical rigor.
It is rewarding to see someone finally grasp the nuances of fingerpicking or soloing. You might start with simple power chords, but we eventually reach the sophistication of advanced lead guitar work. Music theory provides the map, but your own musical voice provides the destination.
Tuning and maintenance are simply the small steps that keep our focus on the art itself. I find great joy in helping you connect your hands to the music living in your head.
