About Ilyana
I am a passionate guitar tutor with a master’s degree in music and seven years of teaching experience. My journey with the guitar began early, and over the years, I have developed a deep appreciation for both the technical and expressive aspects of the instrument. Teaching allows me to share this passion and help others unlock their musical potential. Throughout my career, I have worked with a diverse range of students, from beginners taking their first steps to advanced players refining their style. I believe in a personalized approach, adapting lessons to fit each student’s goals, learning pace, and musical interests. Whether you want to master chords, improve fingerstyle technique, or learn to improvise, I tailor my teaching to meet your needs. In addition to teaching, I remain actively involved in music through performance and continuous learning. This ongoing engagement ensures that I bring fresh ideas and current techniques into my lessons. I’m dedicated to creating a positive and encouraging space where students feel motivated and supported. Seeing students grow in skill and confidence is the most rewarding part of my work. My guitar lessons are tailored to suit players of all levels, whether you’re just starting out or looking to refine advanced techniques. Each session focuses on building a strong foundation in essential skills like chord transitions, fingerstyle playing, and improvisation. I design lessons to be engaging and practical, encouraging steady progress while keeping the learning process enjoyable.
A key part of my teaching is developing both technical proficiency and musical creativity. Students practice exercises that improve finger strength, dexterity, and rhythm, while also exploring different genres and styles. This balance helps learners gain versatility and a deeper understanding of the instrument’s possibilities.
Improvisation is emphasized to nurture creativity and confidence. I guide students through scales, phrasing, and musical theory in a hands-on way, empowering them to create their own melodies and solos. This not only builds musicianship but also fosters a personal connection to the music.
