About Lacey
I am a guitar tutor with 9 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Guitar. I have taught approximately 300 students across all guitar styles and levels. My teaching covers improvisation, chord harmony, scales, modes, songwriting, rhythm development, and performance preparation. I am deeply passionate about helping students develop creative confidence and an authentically personal playing style. My lessons are structured, thorough, and always creative and personally responsive to each student's character and goals. I have coached students for music school auditions, recordings, live performances, and band situations. Let me help you develop the guitar skills and passion you are truly proud of.

My guitar lessons develop strong technical foundations while keeping every session creative, musically inspiring, and genuinely rewarding. I begin with a thorough assessment of each student's level, musical tastes, and personal goals so every lesson is immediately relevant and motivating from the start. Warm-ups develop scales, chord transitions, and picking exercises to build the physical coordination and confidence needed for fluent playing. Theory is introduced progressively alongside practical playing connecting every concept directly to the real music the student is engaged with. Jazz students work on chord voicings, extended harmonies, improvisation, and the harmonic language of jazz. Blues and rock students focus on pentatonic scales, bending, vibrato, and authentic expressive delivery. Backing tracks develop timing, groove, and genuine musical expressiveness throughout every lesson. Classical students develop formal fingerstyle technique, structured repertoire, and the technical standards required for examination or concert performance. Weekly practice plans are provided after every lesson so students always know exactly what to work on at home. My commitment is for every student to become a technically solid, creatively confident, and genuinely passionate guitarist.
