About Melanie
I hold a Master’s degree in Music and have been teaching guitar for over nine years. My academic studies gave me a solid understanding of performance, composition, and pedagogy, which I now apply to lessons that are engaging, practical, and tailored to individual goals. Over the years, I have worked with students ranging from complete beginners to advanced players preparing for performances. Some wanted to explore classical guitar, while others were drawn to modern genres. This variety has made me adaptable, ensuring every learner finds lessons relevant and enjoyable. My guitar lessons begin with essential foundations such as chord transitions, strumming patterns, and rhythm exercises. These basics are carefully structured to build muscle memory and coordination, allowing students to play songs fluently while establishing a strong technical base that supports future growth.
As learners progress, I guide them through scales, fingerstyle techniques, and improvisation. By blending theory with practical exercises, students learn how to construct melodies, explore different tonalities, and develop their own musical ideas. This approach encourages creativity while reinforcing technical accuracy and musical understanding.
Performance and expression are also core parts of my lessons. I help students refine dynamics, timing, and stage confidence, ensuring they can perform in front of an audience with ease. Whether for exams, recitals, or personal enjoyment, my lessons build both skill and artistry.
