About Josh
I want to teach guitar because I know how important the guitar has been for me throughout my life, the invaluable role it can play in developing one's sense of emotion, competence and self-confidence. Though I may not have studied teaching at a college/university, I learnt over my 17 years of playing the pitfalls one can fall into: not just in technique, but also in mentality. I have read widely on the psychology of music in my search for bettering my own approach on the instrument. I want to share these lessons and my passion for the guitar with students, with an approach that gives more than a simple textbook formula.

I taught myself to play guitar to a high level through my sheer love of the instrument and music. I can be flexible with duration of the lessons, but 30 mins would be the minimum. I encourage people to learn through playing, and know from experience that it's important for a teacher to change their approach based on the needs and direction of a particular student. I have made very popular YouTube tuition videos that regularly result in my getting comments on my teaching style and the gratitude people feel for my helping them learn.

Perfect! I'd never played guitar properly before and Josh is the perfect tutor for someone who's starting out, considering he'd not taught anyone before, I'm impressed! He's very friendly and patient, with the right amount of good advice :) Puts a lot of effort in for me to learn it properly; I'm definitely glad I gave him a chance:)
- Samantha is a fast learner and was an ideal first student for me. We identified that her left hand nails might need a trim for her to progress further but other than that she has a lot of promise playing guitar in my eyes :)Josh's response :

Josh is an excellent teacher. He is really passionate about music and being able to share this with others. He's patient and takes time to explain things which helps keep you at ease when trying to learn a new skill. If you want to improve your guitar skills, have Josh as your tutor!
Josh is a very experienced guitarist. He provides calm and clear instruction. He can tailor his support to whatever you want to achieve, from learning specific songs or more technical aspects of music. Highly recommended!
Josh has taught me plenty of guitar as a friend, and I couldn’t recommend him more as a teacher. He is wonderful at explaining things in a simple way, very encouraging, passionate and a phenomenal musician himself. I hope lots of people can benefit from his expertise on guitar as I have myself.
