About Curtis
I am a hardworking student who is responsible for my work and I always try to do my best in everything. My favorite classes are Calculus, Physics and Chemistry. I am specifically most interested in Mechanics (Dynamics and Kinematics) and Chemical processes and reactions. During my free time, I play tennis, and swim competitively. I am also very passionate about chess as I have competed in many open tournaments and was the president of the chess club at Fossil Ridge High School. Aside from that, I enjoy skiing, travelling and rock climbing too. At Fossil Ridge High School, I am involved in many clubs like Science Olympiad, Science National Honor Society, Chess Club, Knowledge Bowl, and many others. My favorite club is Science Olympiad because I can learn more about the different areas of science, and also apply that knowledge into building devices like an insulating device for one of my events Thermodynamics.

I always try to explain concepts into further depth and use plenty of examples to help students understand the concept fully. In my mind, understanding the concepts of science and math are the most important. After that, test-taking strategies can also boost how well a student performs and can maximize their potential. Whenever I am teaching, I always try to take my time and be patient as understanding the concepts are crucial. Rushing the student and getting them to the next concept is not good when they don't have a good foundation.
