About Benjamin
Teaching has always been at the heart of who I am. I currently serve as a substitute teacher in the Carlisle Public Schools, working with students in grades K–8, and I have experience as both a National Honor Society writing tutor and a college writing tutor.
As a writing mentor, I have helped high school students craft compelling essays that have contributed to admissions at highly selective universities, including MIT, Vanderbilt University, and the University of Virginia. I love helping students discover what makes their story unique and communicating it effectively.
I am a student at Harvard University studying Classics and Human Developmental and Regenerative Biology. My interdisciplinary background has given me extensive experience with both the humanities and scientific writing. My own work has been published in venues ranging from poetry publications to peer-reviewed scientific journals, allowing me to support students with everything from early literacy and creative writing

Every student has a unique voice, and my goal is to help them express it with clarity, confidence, and purpose. I enjoy working with learners of all ages—from young readers who are just beginning to build literacy skills to high school students preparing college essays for some of the nation’s most selective universities.
No matter where a student is in their journey, I tailor each lesson to their individual needs, strengths, and goals. For younger students, that may mean developing reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and a love of language. For older students, it may involve analytical writing, research papers, literary analysis, standardized test writing, or crafting compelling college application essays.

Ben is the helpful, positive, inspiring and engaging voice teacher you've been looking for. My daughter was lucky to study with him this year and her technique, general knowledge, and confidence improved enormously. Ben is a terrific teacher/coach for both beginning and seasoned singers.
Ben worked as a music director for a production of Godspell I directed with children ages 8-15. He worked very well with the kids in this age group, was a positive and knowledgeable music director and the kids loved him!
