About Maya
I am a Harvard undergrad who has been tutoring for six years now. I have also completed extremely high levels of math, surpassing multi-variable calculus. My extensive background in both tutoring and math knowledge have enabled me to tutor my students and allow them to improve in the ways that they hope to do so.

The method in which I traditionally tutor my client is through the teach-test method. I spend the first half of the lesson re-teaching material and answering any questions. I then test the students' level of comfortability with the subject and will then provide further practice that I ask the students to complete practice on their own. I will then walk them through the process upon completion.
Once I am aware of the sector of math that needs reviewing/tutoring, I lay out how I will teach the concepts as well as gather practice questions that will ensure the student is confident in their ability to perform on their own.
I have been tutoring for many years, and have continued to do so as I obtain my degree from Harvard University. I myself have scored an 800 on the SAT math portion and have learned as well as taught different mechanisms and tricks to master the exam. What sets me apart as a tutor is that I have a level of relatability when it comes to the age of most of my clients, which makes it much easier for them to confide in me when they do have questions or concerns.
I have provided lessons to students ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade, primarily focusing on SAT math prep and curriculum-based school math.
