About Nur
The most important skill I can teach my students is how to approach a math problem and discover by themselves when they are not on the right track. For this purpose, I prefer collaborative
and active learning, which is very beneficial in terms of developing these skills and engaging the students. It also gives rise to a creative learning environment. My responsibility as a teacher is to help and support the students and work with them whenever they need help. This is my favorite part of my job. Encouraging students to ask questions and make comments, even if they think the question is elementary, helps them to learn the material. If we provide the students with such a supportive lesson, the math anxiety that students deal with is reduced. I believe a friendly demeanor and a comfortable lesson setting are very important factors in student learning. Therefore, my goal is to reach all my students, no matter what their background, interest, or motivation is. From this perspective, I aim to provide an interactive lesson in which students learn much more compared with a lesson where the teacher only talks and writes on the board. On the other hand, active learning may be challenging for some students. So, I try to strike according to the students' needs.

I prefer active learning. First, I briefly explain the subject and then solve a couple of examples. Then, I let students try it on their own. If they are challenging, I give hints and explain the parts they didn't understand. I like this style since if someone shows the solution, the students seem to understand it, but when they sit down and try to solve it on their own, they struggle since they don't know which part they didn't understand. This way, I can see where they need help and direct them, and later, they usually solve similar questions by themselves.
My lessons are mostly for undergraduate students.
