About Kent
I have been tutoring and editing students' work for 30 years now. In my late teens I became an Emergency Medical Technician 1A and worked for an ambulance company for two years. I then went through paramedic training and worked as a paramedic for 10 years. I unfortunately sustained a back injury on the job, and then went back to school. I completed my history degree with a minor in writing and editing. I then worked as a web editor/developer at a community college and then at a university for 20 years. During both those jobs, I offered tutoring and editing in addition to my regular duties. I've tutored hundreds of students and edited over 1000 pieces of writing over the years. I like to start with the very first basics of the course and build from there. This ensures nothing is missed and builds a stronger background of knowledge.
As far as my lesson plan goes, I like to build those individually. Starting with the basics of the course provides a strong opportunity to determine what needs to be covered and which lessons come next.
I'm fairly unique as a tutor because I've been tutoring for over 30 years. My strongest tutoring is provided for middle school, high school, and the first two years at a university or community college. I can certainly provide tutoring for juniors and seniors at a university in history and geology, and possibly astronomy as well.
In addition to tutoring, I am also an editor, so I can help with any writing assignment you might have.
