About Christina
Hello! I'm Christina D. Merriweather, a dedicated and passionate educator with over ten years of tutoring experience. My journey began at Adelphi University, where I started as a note taker for students with disabilities. From there, I worked with students struggling with essay writing and research. What began as a part-time job while completing my undergraduate education quickly evolved into a lifelong freelance career. I earned my bachelor's degree in Cultural Studies, specializing in Literature and Society. Afterward, I transitioned from in-person tutoring to freelancing with various ed-tech companies, working with ESL adult students from diverse countries and professional backgrounds. My experience also includes working in public schools across the United States, where I help students ranging from kindergarten to 7th grade improve their foundational English reading, speaking, and writing skills.

I provide differentiated instruction by identifying each student's weak areas and tailoring lessons to address and strengthen those gaps. My goal is to help students build a strong foundation that supports their academic and personal growth throughout life. I also believe that emotional health impacts a student's ability to learn and thrive academically. Therefore, I incorporate joy, creativity, and wellness practices into every tutoring session to foster a holistic learning experience.
