About Lara
Hello! My name is Lara, I am studying Communication and I formally studied English in an institution for 3 years. Due to the pandemic I had to leave classes and in order not to lose practice, I actively looked for ways to train my level of both oral and written comprehension. The tools that I got allowed me to be able to communicate with English-speaking people from all over the world and added a world of content that I am now able to enjoy and that I hope you will also get. Learning a new language (and even more so English, which in today's globalized world is almost essential for a good job opportunity) is always beneficial, it is always an investment in you, in your future and in your network of contacts and connections. Languages bring new cultures and traditions hand in hand that give us a feeling of belonging, of unification with the great mass of people. Communication with others leads us to live shared experiences that modify our way of thinking and seeing the world, necessary tools in the growth of all as people. My goal is for my students to be able to understand complex texts in grammar and extension, as well as the common expressions of English speakers (both American and British), which will allow them to read academic texts and understand cultural products (novels, songs, series , journalistic news, etc) and their daily meanings.
At the same time, I want them to achieve grammatical knowledge that allows them to communicate in writing with English speakers, produce messages and responses, texts and edit texts in English.
In addition, I want to help you with exercises for the correct pronunciation of the language in both its American and British versions.
To achieve these three objectives, my study plan consists of grammatical correction exercises, reading of stories and short texts with a corresponding oral discussion on the matter, analysis of cultural products of different origins (in order to train the ear to recognize different accents) and later in the course messaging exercises with native English speakers and people who speak English as a second language, with the intention of achieving a successful and fluid communication capacity in the student.
The main intention of my classes will always be, beyond the necessary formal knowledge of the language, that students are able to understand and communicate in English with other people. The courses will be adapted in content to the student's age, level of knowledge and time availability. The orientation that the student prefers or needs about the language (focus on pronunciation, on the production of texts, on the understanding of audiovisual content, etc.) will also be taken into account when planning the contents.
My course will be particularly useful for students who need extra help, as well as for people who are about to travel to English-speaking countries or need to improve their CV.

U$15 per hour to help you improve your skills in spanish in addition to understanding different accents and dialects from all Latin America. I can teach grammar, writing, listening, pronunciation, understanding of cultural implications and also I can provide you of audiovisual products and their significance in a cultural level. I can also teach latin american history.
