About Jen Yong
I am a university student that enjoys teaching people Chinese. I used to teach foreigners Chinese for 6 months on an online platform and I have taught more than 200 students. My students are usually from the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, and some Arabic and Western countries. I know a bit about what are the weaknesses of people from different countries when they are learning Chinese. I am Malaysian, so I can speak 3 languages: Chinese as my native language, English, Malay, and Cantonese (a dialect of Chinese). Singing is also my interest, I can share lots of amazing songs with you!

I always think if we want to master a language, we have to feel the language instead of memorization. Keeping an interest in the language during the process is also very important. I am good at teaching pronunciation and the pinyin system in Chinese. I also teach grammar in Chinese like how the sentence is built, but for grammar, I always encourage my students to create their own sentences with the concept to feel it and master it. I use HSK 1 material to teach absolute beginners pinyin, grammar, vocabulary, and conversation. However, I am not a teacher who likes to follow the rules, I always add lots of extra material or my own concept to teach. Course Structure 1- Introduction to the Chinese language + Pinyin pronunciation system (Tones, vowel, consonant) + Simple Vocab = around 10 hours 2-Grammar to build sentences (word classes, how to ask questions or express emotion and more) = around 10 hours 3-Conservation= unlimited haha because there is unlimited conversation to learn. I like to share songs, movies, and culture with my students to make the lesson fun. My lesson is best for absolute beginners or intermediate learners.

Perfect! First and foremost, I would like to thank you teacher Rex because he is a very thoughful, friendly and positive teacher who put a lot of thought into how he presents and explains the material.
