About George
Since 1992, I have managed numerous projects to provide chemical emergency response solutions, taught chemistry to universities and industry, and conducted online chemical training for small business, industries and governmental agencies.
A project that I managed and taught chemistry that minimized risks from transportation of chemicals was my Regional Fenceline Monitoring (RFLM) project near LaPorte, Texas, an industrial area on the Houston Ship Channel.
In 2017 RFLM was selected “Best Rail Yard Chemical Monitoring and Detection” and “Best Integration of Cameras, Sensors, and Communications for Rail Safety” by Government Security News (GSN); “Louisiana protects children with standoff chemical detection”, GSN, 2017 pgs 1, 6-9.
In 2015 I taught chemical security to provide situational awareness for the Port of Baton Rouge, judged “Best Integrated Seaport Security Program” by GSN; “GSN 2015 Digital Yearbook of Airport/Seaport/Border Security Awards Recipients”, pages 58-59.
In 2014 I taught chemical security to protect chemical transportation for the New Orleans Fire Department at the Port of New Orleans, judged by GSN as “Best Airport/Seaport Integrated Security Program”; GSN, 2014, pages 48-49.
In 2012, I evaluated chemical measurement methodologies used by USEPA and OSHA during the BP Oil Spill as Project Manager for the Deepwater Horizon Study Group, formed in 2011 by the Center for Catastrophic Risk Management at the University of California at Berkeley after the BP Oil Spill; GSN, 2012, “Air Quality Issues: Air Monitoring Needed for Cleanup Workers in Vessels”.
