About Daniel
I have been effective at helping students achieve results in school and on standardized tests at all levels. My tutoring lessons pay careful attention to the most effective ways to deliver instruction with a complete understanding of how students learn and communicate. I have over 15 years of experience tutoring for the ISEE, SSAT, College Applications, SAT reading and writing, AP history, K-12 English, and K-8 math, helping students gain admission to competitive private and charter schools and elite universities. In addition to my tutoring experience, I have a strong commitment to teaching, tutoring, and mentorship. I will be an Adjunct Professor at Lynn University this fall. I have taught screenwriting at the Big Apple Film Festival and currently work with Roadmap Writers, where I provide developmental notes and guide emerging writers through the writing and revision process. As a WGA West mentor, I support new Guild members as they manage the early stages of their professional writing careers. I’ve also Guest Lectured on television pilot writing at Florida Atlantic University.
I hold a Master of Science in Journalism from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dramatic Writing from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. My professional background includes staff writing positions on Almost Human (FOX/Warner Bros.) and Murder in the First (TNT), as well as development deals across major studios and production companies, including Lionsgate, Phantom Four, Shephard/Robin, and Marc Rosen Productions. I was the Development Producer for the Investigation Discovery show Living a Nightmare. I have written both scripted dramas and true-crime programming, developed feature films, TV pilots, and documentaries in collaboration with producers J.J. Abrams, Steven Bochco, J.H. Wyman, Joe Venafro, Alison Shearmur, and Marc Rosen. Earlier in my career, I taught English at William Cullen Bryant High School in Queens, NY.
I have been effective in tutoring students with diverse learning styles and disabilities for both standardized tests and classroom work. I do this with a deep belief that students learn in different ways and that a flexible, inclusive approach benefits everyone. My commitment to students has enabled them to succeed at their current school and gain admission to their desired high school and universities.
