I am guided by my personal values of passion, curiosity, innovation, flexibility, commitment, inclusion, and diversity. Regarding my pedagogical approach, this means fostering a classroom environment with clear and frequent two-way communication between myself and my students about the class workflow and/or any unexpected challenges that may arise throughout the semester, and building an inclusive learning community in which we all abide by the same ground rules and ethical code of conduct.
In my courses, students learn to evaluate and ask critical questions about creative works and their social, cultural, political, and historical contexts. I foster and support this learning by providing extensive feedback on weekly assignments and written exams. To maintain an inclusive and equitable environment, I also offer peer writing workshops around the midterm and final exams where students could provide feedback to each other on their writing and their citations.
As a tutor, I have several writing resources that I always recommend to my students. These resources include templates and basic writing guides that can help students at any stages of their writing process from high school to college.
