I have successfully tutored in mathematics since 2010, primarily to A-Level and GCSE standard but have also helped a few students at earlier key stages. I have experience of teaching students with a variety of capabilities, temperaments and goals, amongst them some who have been home-schooled and some who have problems with dyslexia. For some the goal has been a grade C at GCSE to allow them to progress into further education and some of these have gained the confidence to sit the higher tier paper. Others, particularly A-Level students, have aimed to gain a deeper and fuller appreciation of mathematics thereby improving their grades.
I graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Pure And Applied Mathematics in 2008. I then studied for a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics in 2009 which gave me an understanding of the theory of mathematics education and experience in the classroom. However a period of ill health meant I was unable to complete the final few weeks to achieve this qualification but nevertheless I have been able use the skills gained in my current role. I am also a member of The Tutors Association
