About Tanuja
Literature has been in my life through my Bachelor's and Master's degrees (at St Xavier's College and Manipal University). I have been a high school teacher in Bangalore and Mumbai for 7 years.
Nothing makes me happier than walking into a noisy classroom and drawing my students into a deep discussion on Shakespeare's Othello or reading out their creative writing in a literature circle. However, I have found online teaching and tutoring equally satisfying because I can focus on an individual student's strengths and weaknesses. Students can often feel neglected or unsure of how to improve in a large school classroom and wanting to help more students has led me to online teaching.

After an initial assessment of your abilities, we can discuss your learning goals. My approach is strengths based, helping you to harness the things you enjoy about English and are good at!
Learning happens best when you are engaged - my classes start with a story or a poem that will get you thinking. Each class will include: discussion or debate, a reading task, and a writing task. Feedback is extremely important and you will receive both written and verbal feedback so you can improve quickly. We will keep a razor sharp focus on accuracy across all areas of the subject like spelling, grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary.
The courses I offer tuition for are: English language and literature for Cambridge IGCSE, A levels and IB.
