About Sara
I have a Diploma in Higher Education in Learning Disability Nursing. I also have a PTLLS teaching qualification. I have mentored students doing distance learning and face to face classroom based lessons. My career started in 1987 when I worked in an 'institution'. Soon after all the purpose built hospitals were knocked down and 'patients' were moved into the community. I worked as a support worker for 10 years before embarking on nurse training at the University of Central England. I qualified in 2000 and have since practiced as a nurse in various roles including community nursing, assessment and treatment, respite, supported living and management. My career spans 31 years. I have so many experiences and so much knowledge to share with students embarking on a career in nursing.

I do not have one particular teaching method. I can adapt my methodology to ensure I meet all learning styles. Scenarios, questions, feedback, quizzes and practice always help the learner understand the theory. I do not use confusing jargon to get my point across.
