About Alicia
I myself am currently an English & Drama student at Royal Holloway University, and I took four subjects at a A-Level: English Literature (A*), Religious Studies (B), Psychology (A) and Drama (B). Additionally, I’ve been working as a tutor for over the past three years.
I hope to one day be a Theatre director, so I can combine my love for literature, the arts and music within my films. I’ve been reading since I can remember and watching Shakespeare since the age of 8, it’s safe to say that I have grown up with English and it has always been a passion of mine, so much so that it is now a driving force for my career. English is so very meaningful and imperative in our society, so I truly believe that it is imperative that every child has an appreciation and knowledge of what I would consider an art form.

I studied Romeo and Juliet, Jekyll and Hyde and An Inspector Calls at my GCSE exam all of which I loved. However this does not mean that I cannot tutor your child in other GCSE pieces of literature and poetry collections. Furthermore, as a student myself I have a greater understanding of what is achievable with recent exam boards and the capabilities of current students under exam conditions. We shall undertake various essay plans and mind mapping with relevance to their schools chosen books and poems, I will teach them how to write a top grade essay and how to work with the mark scheme and not against it. Most importantly I will make sure that your child knows their books back to front. I want to remind you however that continuous essay writing and planning is somewhat dull for a student without a love for English, but it is what will get them the highest grades. However I hope to find a new love for English for your child and I will make it all as engaging as possible.
