About Suraj
I am a full-time gigging musician based in Mumbai, India. I recently graduated from NMIMS School Of Performing Arts with a bachelor's degree in music. I have majored in vocals, I sing Jazz and blues. I have studied under Vasundhara Vee, Lydia Hendrijke and Gina Mirenda. I've also been learning guitar under Sanjay Divecha (the blues guitarist of India) for a few years now.

I have a very systematic approach for teaching guitar and vocals. I will be incorporating things that I've learnt in my music college. For guitar, I will be focusing on scales, arpeggios, solos, rhythm and chord inversions. For vocals, I will be teaching basic ear training ( recognising chords so you know where you are in the form of the song), vocal texture ( on-sets, modal voice, different vocal techniques to colour your voice), breath control and scales.
I recommend doing warm-ups before class. My class will be divided into two sections, music theory ( chord analysis, introduction to the song, form and scales) and playing/singing. Half hour will be allotted for both.

Talented and hard-workingNot only is he extremely adept at playing guitar and singing jazz music but he also is extremely passionate about spreading joy through his music.He also hopes to bring about world peace through his music and is extremely adroit in the art of teaching which requires monumental patience.
Suraj is absolutely a go-to professional teacher who will always ensure that the students get the support that they really need for a solid foundation and they are able to clearly visualise what the lesson expects from the student. He is also really helpful with all doubt solving that really helps us understand and explore the endless possibilities that are critical for the students growth in understanding, creativity and application of all concepts we have learned. I am very glad to have such a warm and fun teacher.
He has a good understanding and perspective about how to tap into any student's raw talent and nourish it really well.
