About Owen
I have been tutoring for about 5 years, working with students ranging in age from 12 to 25. I primarily tutor math courses such as algebra, calculus, and differential equations. I also tutor physics, chemistry, and I have tutored basic Spanish in the past. Additionally, I have worked as a swim instructor with children ages 2 to 12, so I understand how to communicate effectively with younger students. I am comfortable with all math courses prior to college, including but not limited to algebra, trigonometry, arithmetic, and geometry. I like to get to know the student first and understand their prior knowledge coming into the lesson. Then I will ask more specific questions about the content to understand at what point they start to struggle. Then with that specific concept we will go back to the basics together where I will teach the student. I will give them a helping hand as they attempt to apply their new knowledge on their own work problems, or I can generate my own. I was a swim instructor for young kids and I currently tutor primarily college students. I can create a lesson for anyone and want to help them reach their goals as quickly as possible.
