About Mary Pope

I am a current student at UNC Chapel Hill who has taken both AP English Literature and English Language and received 5’s on both exams. Understanding your student and their struggles is very helpful as a tutor. Likewise, as your tutor, I can provide advice based upon my recent experience as an AP English student. Feel free to contact me for your first lesson (for free!). I will be here for you and flexible to meet your busy schedule. I look forward to working with you :)

About the lesson

For APers, I begin with a diagnostic test that will help evaluate the areas where improvement is needed. As your tutor, I will help you answer multiple choice questions efficiently and with accuracy. In addition, I will provide recommendations for essay writing to help you reach your goals come time for the exam in May! As for general English students, my approach varies based on the skill you are aiming to master. Whether you want to work on reading comprehension, analytical writing, or another subject, I am here to help!

Since I began high school, Mary Pope has been a huge help. She cares for my education as if it is her own. She takes time to ensure that I understand every concept, question, and mistake entirely. She has also inspired and encouraged me to build better study habits and push myself. (while keeping a healthy work-life balance.) Mary Pope has been such a beneficial, kind, and supportive person for me. I am so grateful for all of her help.
