Hello! I am a 7-year and going choral student who has performed and sung in various vocal groups and taken a few lessons of my own! I sing alto, but can work with any voice part!

About Lola
I have been in choir since 6th grade, play multiple instruments, and have had a passion for music since I was little. I sing as an alto/mezzo depending on what is required of my singing. My groups include:
Euphony(High) Choir, JHS
Paragon Charter Academy Choir
Jazz Choir, JHS
Solo and Ensemble - District and States
....and I am probably forgetting a few!

My Approach
As a vocal tutor, I focus on building both skill and confidence in a supportive, low-pressure environment. I believe every voice is unique and worth developing, and I approach teaching with patience and encouragement. While I do not have formal teaching training, I bring real, hands-on experience as a choir student and use what I’ve learned to help others grow. Having spent years in choir myself, I understand what it feels like to learn music, blend in an ensemble, and improve over time, so I meet students where they are and guide them step by step.
Teaching Methods and Techniques
My teaching style is hands-on and adaptable. I guide students through proper vocal technique, including breath support, pitch accuracy, tone, and diction. I often model examples so students can hear what something should sound like, then help them practice it themselves. I also break down music into manageable sections and use repetition, warm-ups, and targeted exercises to strengthen specific skills. Whether a student sings alto, soprano, tenor, or bass, I adjust my approach to fit their voice.
A Typical Lesson Plan
A typical lesson starts with vocal warm-ups to prepare the voice and build healthy habits. From there, we focus on a specific skill or piece of music, working through challenges like pitch, rhythm, or blending. I provide real-time feedback and guidance as the student sings. We usually end with a short review and something to practice, so the student leaves feeling accomplished and clear on their next steps.

My lessons are ideal for beginner to intermediate singers, especially students involved in school choir or just starting their vocal journey. I can work with all voice parts and help with basic technique, learning music, and building confidence in singing. Whether someone wants to improve for choir, auditions, or personal enjoyment, I’m here to help them succeed.
