Hubert is a skilful communicator and a true empath, sensing immediately when the student is loosing focus or not following the material haha =D I relied on his services to get me up to speed with the Reformation and I can say that he certainly has a deep understanding of history, politics, economics, historical theories, religious doctrine and a host of other things that I can't even name. But not only is he extremely knowledgeable: you can really benefit from his knowledge as he communicates it so well. Herbert and I took a history module together and I can fully vouch for his passion for the subject. I often saw him at lectures and even seminars from other courses, sometimes as exotic as Italian studies. I could hardly point you in the direction of someone more universally rounded, with almost encyclopaedic knowledge and frightfully driven, however despite those impressive qualities Herbert was always very modest and ready to extend a helping hand at short notice to anyone who needed it. I personally benefited from this generosity of his when he proofread my essay and offered comments that enabled me to achieve the next level of clarity and precision and culminated in me achieving a first, on no small part thanks to his guidance. I could not recommend him more and I am certain he is the best man for the job.

When I first met him I was in dire straits, struggling to structure my summative essay on Weber and Mill.
