About Malia
As a tutor with 5+ years of experience, I guide singers of every level to discover their true voice. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Music Production (Vocal Engineering). This helps me blend creative songwriting with technical skill. I work with singer-songwriters to develop original music that feels authentic. Together we practice lyric writing, melodic structure, and vocal phrasing. Basic piano and guitar accompaniment are taught to support self-performance. Ear training, harmony, improvisation, and theory are always included. These tools give singers independence and confidence. I put strong emphasis on safe vocal technique. Building confidence is central to every session. My teaching adapts to school learners, college students, and adult professionals. Lessons are interactive and student-focused. My teaching method is designed to prepare singers for every part of the performance journey. Lessons begin with solid vocal technique—breath, tone, and safe practices. From there, I guide students into performance skills. Audition preparation is emphasized, covering repertoire selection, rehearsal, and presentation. Stage presence is developed through practical and expressive exercises. Performance anxiety is addressed with supportive strategies to build calm confidence. Every student’s needs are different, so I adapt my methods accordingly. Adult beginners benefit from patient support and clear steps. Advanced teens are given higher challenges and pushed toward excellence. My approach combines structure with creativity. I believe every singer can find their own authentic voice. Lessons are interactive, encouraging, and focused on growth. Over time, students become confident, prepared, and expressive. Together, we’ll get you ready to impress in any performance.
