About Gelasia
Reading has been my passion ever since I could remember—way back in elementary school, when I first got lost in the pages of a book. From the plot twists of Chronicle of a Death Foretold to the emotional depth of The Color Purple, I’ve always been drawn to stories that leave a lasting impression. It’s no wonder I decided to teach reading—I want to share that same excitement and love for books with others! When I’m not immersed in a good novel, I’m usually spending time with my dog, Shadow, who’s as mysterious as the books I read. Oh, and did I mention my favorite color is black? There’s just something about it. If you’re looking for someone who’s not only passionate about reading but also dedicated to making it fun and engaging, you’re in the right place!

I've got a 4.3 GPA, nailed a 30 on my ACT reading section, and crushed both AP Lit and Lang courses. If that’s not enough to make you sign up, well, I don't know what is! Just kidding! On a serious note, I do peer tutoring at my school for grades K-2 in reading comprehension, and I absolutely LOVE it! My teaching technique? It's all about breaking down the text and really getting what you're reading. Plus, I teach kids how to spot those sneaky key words. But wait, there's more!
