About Vinh
Hello! My name is Vinh, and I am a senior from Vista Ridge High School in Austin, Texas. As an active competitor and leader in many clubs, including DECA, Debate, and our local Leander ISD tutoring service FLAG, I hope to expand on my professionalism and interpersonal skills through tutoring. Alongside maturing myself, I aim to spread my experience and knowledge to other students while meeting new people from different backgrounds and cultures. As the Valedictorian of the Vista Ridge High School Class of 2025 along with high scores on SAT/AP tests, I'm confident in my ability to impart my knowledge to others as a high school student myself. I have over four years of experience leading private chess and tutoring lessons to my local community, and I hope to share this learning experience with others!

As a fellow high school student, I employ a more personal, current approach to mentoring that is different from older tutors. With my recent experience taking these math classes, I will impart a similar learning style to the professors who had taught me in the past year while also providing my own insights on common mistakes, tips and tricks, and general advice from my own struggles and successes. While I possess a base curriculum with many slideshows, course packets, and practice problems, I will tailor material to each student based on their needs and skill sets. A typical lesson will begin with a friendly introduction followed by a summary of the lesson plan. The lesson will begin with a quick 10-15 minutes lecture over the topic for the day followed by continuous side-by-side practice problems building on the aforementioned lecture. I understand that students learn best by actually "doing," which is why I will limit the amount of talking and provide more time for problem solving. Through this learning experience, I hope we can both grow alongside one another and become close friends along the way!
