I am a high school English teacher and have tutored English, writing, and rhetoric for over 3 years. I enjoy the outdoors, music, family, and video games. I love to help students grow and become better readers and writers. I have tutored and taught at a high school as well as a writing center at my former university.

The first thing I always like to do as a tutor is highlight what you are doing right. Oftentimes, a student will be discouraged because they are struggling. Maybe they have poor grades or his/her paper is cluttered with red ink. In these circumstances, I like to provide encouragement and help them improve their strengths, and weed out their weaknesses.
