About DAN
I am a dedicated and experienced educator with over a decade of teaching and tutoring experience. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics as well as two Master’s degrees, one in Educational Technology and another in Curriculum and Instruction with an English Learner endorsement. Since 2014, I have been teaching high school, and I have also worked with students of all ages at Sylvan Learning Center. My goal is to make learning clear, engaging, and approachable. I believe that every student is capable of success when given the right guidance and support. With my background, I can adapt lessons to fit your unique learning style, helping you not only understand the material but also gain confidence in your abilities. Whether you’re preparing for exams, strengthening foundational skills, or striving for academic excellence, I am committed to helping you achieve your goals with patience, professionalism, and care.

When I am teaching, I am not just trying to get you a correct answer. My goal is to help you understand the concept at a high level. This way, you will be able to answer more of these types of questions independently. When I teach, I ask students to analyze situations for patterns and ask "What do you notice?" After that, I make connections with the students' observations and thoughts to what the concept is covering. When students are still not quite understanding the material, I modify my questions and will tailor examples to their skill level with the goal of building up to a higher level. What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to recognize when a student is struggling with a concept and make adjustments that will help that specific student learn. I understand every student learns a little differently, so I find multiple ways of attacking concepts. My job is not done until the student can find success. As a certified math teacher and tutor for over 10 years, I have worked with mostly high school students on Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, PreCalculus, Calculus, and Statistics. Additionally, I have worked with younger students in tutoring centers and successfully helped them understand the material.
