About Harriett
I have been a world languages teacher for over 28 years. I currently hold a position as a Spanish and Italian High School teacher. I also have experience teaching adults in various contexts. I have a BS degree, an MBA degree, and obtained a 150-hour ESOL certificate (University of Arizona) last year. I believe in asking my students exactly what they need and in tailoring my lessons to fulfill those needs. I planned my lessons ahead of time with clear content and language objectives that help my students reach their instructional goals. I include all four skills in my curriculum (listening and comprehension, writing, reading, and speaking) unless otherwise requested by a student. My lessons are interactive and I use various educational tools to keep my students engaged. I constantly check for understanding and make sure my students are ready to move forward. My lessons are for children from Middle and High School, and adults. I teach Spanish, Italian, and ESL at all levels. I also prepare students to take AP and IB exams. Most of my lessons start with a warm-up activity to recall previous knowledge, followed by instruction.
