About Gwendolyn
I’m just a high school student! Nothing scary, or anyone to be nervous about. I have a boyfriend of six months along with many friends. I taught myself how to read at the age of three, and have excelled since. I am in all advanced classes, including Algebra 2 honors, English honors, History honors, advanced journalism, and am planning on taking honors pre-calculus and AP European history next year. I love animals, and plan to be in the medical field when I’m older. I’m quite an extrovert and like to think I get along with people quite easily. A huge part of my lessons would be creating a communicative relationship with my student, creating a no-pressure environment for them to succeed!

As a tutor, I will do my best to share my personal experiences as a high school student who has always excelled in reading and writing. I will never pressure you or your child, and will be able to adapt to any given situation.
A typical lesson plan would include:
- Looking at the assignment or subject my student is having trouble with
- Teaching and giving techniques to help guide them to success
- Reviewing what they did at the end, and revising/editing
Of course, certain lessons may add some steps, or exclude some of the given steps :)
What sets me apart as a tutoris that I truly understand what a lot of kids are going through. Language is hard! I will hope to guide my students to success in their english/ELA courses with encouragement and lessons I’ve learned up to now. I participate in writing classes incredibly often, and have gotten high marks my entire life in reading and writing. I am in a journalism class through my high school, and regularly write articles on an app called ‘Medium.’ I am the top of my class in English, and have been in honors my whole life.
My lessons are primarily for students eighth grade and under. I would tutor other high school students, but I don’t want to set an environment where one might compare themselves since we are the same age.
