About Xander
My name is Xander, and I offer math tutoring for Grade 1 and Grade 2 students. I am a high school student who enjoys helping younger kids understand math in a clear and simple way. I focus on explaining concepts step by step, using examples that make sense for younger learners. I encourage students to ask questions and work at their own pace. I believe that patience and positivity are the most important tools for helping children gain confidence in math. A typical lesson includes going over a specific topic (for example, addition, subtraction, or shapes), practicing problems together, and then giving the student a chance to try it on their own while I guide them. I adjust the pace and difficulty depending on what the student needs most. Even though I am not a professional teacher, I bring a relatable and friendly style that helps kids feel comfortable. I know that every student learns differently, so I adapt my explanations to make sure they truly understand before moving on.
