About Irina
Hello!
I am 18 years old, and a Romanian student. Growing up with a love for mathematics, I quickly discovered two subjects that I could not let go of ever since: physics and astronomy. At the suggestion of my math teacher, I joined the local astronomy club, finding a way to fulfill my curiosity about cosmic matters. Working together with other students through astrophysics problems and having everyone expose their take on the issues helped me analyze different perspectives on problem-solving and understand the importance of collaboration in real-life research. Thanks to my hunger for more information, I have started to learn mathematical analysis from textbooks and from online courses in order to work with integrals needed to understand various Physics problems. After that, I wanted to share my acquired knowledge with students and took up Astronomy tutoring in various academic contexts such as camps and scientific events in my country, and this way I have gained students to privately tutor.

My approach to tutoring is practical, giving real-life examples of the theories' applicability and encouraging students to find answers to critical questions regarding the subject. After explaining the theory, exercise is crucial to deeply understand the topic, and that would be the main focus of the class, as well as visually understanding a phenomenon. My lessons are for children from 12 to 18 years of age and they last as long as the student wants, I can teach from one to four-hour classes, as I have experience with giving also long classes. I have been teaching astronomy and astrophysics to an eighth-grader for a year now and she has exceptional results in Astronomy and Astrophysics competitions.
