About Lola
Hello! My name is Lola Markham and I am in my Junior year of High school. I have a 3.9 Unweighted GPA and a 4.5 Weighted GPA. I have taken AP classes with scores of 4 out of 5. I have taken Honors classes and will be taking college/dual enrollment classes this upcoming year. I get straight A's in my classes and have assisted other students in my classes with their school work as well. I will treat the tutoring sessions as if it were a real class and will use the same professionalism as a teacher would. I will try to be a bit more relaxed however as I don't want to be a strict or overbearing teacher. However rest assured I will be on top of things and won't allow things to get derailed by off topic conversations or subjects. Thank you!

Welcome! As a tutor I want to be able to make the puzzle pieces click in children's minds and help them understand the academic material. I will first ask the class what part about a subject they don't understand and we will work on those topics. I feel that this is one of the best ways to learn. It focuses on what they do understand instead of frustrating them over what they already understand. When I ask what they do not understand we can focus on the most voted on topic and work on that for the session. The next class we will do the same with the next most misunderstood topic. What sets me apart from other tutors is that I understand the frustration and hopelessness when you feel that you just can't grasp a certain topic. I understand the stress when a test is coming up and you can't understand one of the most important parts of a lesson for the test. I understand the defeat and shame of failing a test even when you gave it all you had. Lastly, I understand when you feel like you can't ask questions to your teacher in fear of being denied help for a genuine question. These lessons are for anyone from elementary school to Middle school. These classes are for anyone in those school years that needs it.
