About Amiti
Hello! I am Amiti, a senior at TJHSST, which is a STEM based magnet school. My passions and strengths lie in science research, mathematics, and artificial intelligence. Outside of academics, I love to swim, bike, go to the gym, and stay active in general. I think of my lessons as more of a discussion about scientific topics, and less like a formal environment. I also always reassure students, that making mistakes is part of the learning process, and instead of being afraid to make mistakes while learning, they should use it as a learning opportunity to get a clear understanding of a topic. I bring a unique perspective to subjects that I teach. I also realize that every student is different. This is why I cater the lesson specifically to the way the student I am teaching, needs.
Usually, I take 15-30 min to give a quick lecture and for the remaining time I go over many different types of practice problems. Of course, if a student already knows the material and only needs help with practice problems, I would be happy to help with that.
I can tutor students for multiple subjects. Although my strengths lie in STEM, and writing about STEM, I teach a variety of subjects.
- For math: Any student currently taking K-7 Math, Prealgebra, Geometry, Algebra 1 or 2, or Precalculus
- For English: K-8 English, Reading Comprehension, Essay Prep.
- For Science: K-8 Science, Biology, AP Biology, Chemistry
I also have a lot of experience with Computer Science and can help with Programming (Python, Java, HTML, JavaScript) as well.
