About DJ

I am a visual arts teacher with 3 years of experience at the middle school level, and 5 years at the high school level. I earned my bachelor's in Art Education from Montana State University in 2018 with an emphasis in Sculpture and mixed media. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in Art Education with an emphasis on student portfolio development. I teach Art Foundations, Ceramics, Sculpture, and Photography at the high school level. My students expect to work hard in my classes, but are not bound by limitations in their ideas, rather their ideas are fostered through one on one teaching so everyone meets their personal artistic goals.

About the lesson

Welcome to the world of online visual arts tutoring, where creativity knows no bounds and technique meets innovation! I am DJ, your guide on this artistic journey. With a strong emphasis on technique development through immersive bootcamps, I believe in nurturing your skills from the ground up, ensuring a solid foundation for your artistic endeavors. But it's not just about mastering techniques; it's also about finding your unique voice. Through a variety of ideation processes, I encourage personal choice and expression, empowering you to explore different styles and approaches that resonate with your vision. Moreover, I integrate the studio habits of mind into our sessions, fostering critical thinking, persistence, and reflection—essential elements for growth and mastery in the visual arts. Get ready to unleash your creativity, refine your skills, and embark on a transformative artistic journey together!
