About Richard
I am a scientist, mathematician and a leading Artificial Intelligence (AI) researcher based in Cambridge.
But I also very much enjoy carefully explaining to students what is AI, machine learning, statistics and their underlying concepts.
I have also given talks on AI that are very popular, and I am writing my third book on AI.

I have successfully taught a range of students from school level to undergraduate level. Lessons are about 1 hour and are carefully tailored to the needs of the student. For example, I used a student's knowledge of A-level maths (in particular, vectors, calculus and probabilities) to understand how Large Language Models work.
I am a qualified teacher and have a PhD in Artificial Intelligence & Chemistry who instils confidence and patiently makes sure that the underlying concepts are understood (and enjoyed).
