About James
I began as you might expect, with a pencil and paper at a very young age, drawing anything and everything, I ventured out with my sketchpad regularly to draw from life and painting in watercolour and acrylic. I'm 30 now, and I've been studying digital art for about 14 years, the thing with study and practice is, it never ends and even now there are things I'm working on becoming more proficient at. But my many years in study allow me lots of insight into many career paths you might be striving for, and I'm here to help you and guide you to a position you want to be in. I've studied Higher National Diploma Art and Design, Foundation Art and Design degree, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design - and a Master's in Computer Animation. This gives me a very broad spectrum of skills, with which I can draw from to teach and use to advise on a wide variety of creative topics. Professionally I've worked as an in-house and freelance graphic designer as well as Head of Marketing for various companies.

My teaching methodology is firstly - - Establish your goals - Establish your current level of skill - From there, what tools you have available to work with - what tools you should have to achieve your goal. - Then the lessons open up, might it be you want to draw Faces Better? Maybe you struggle with tonal values? Maybe you're inspired by a certain style which you want to emulate in your own work. It is very beneficial to be able to transfer me images of your work, webcams are great, screen grabs if we're doing digital work, or photos from a mobile camera emailed over to me. Talk to me for a free consultation and how to best tackle your goal :) We can work through Skype, Discord (preferred), I'm always online, and will respond quickly if you have any general questions.
