About Jilan
Hi there! I’m Jilan, and I’m someone who genuinely loves connecting with people and helping them realise their own potential. I chose to become a tutor because I remember exactly what it feels like to sit in a classroom feeling lost or overwhelmed. I’ve been in those shoes where you’re afraid to raise your hand because you think your question might be 'too simple.' Because of that, I’ve made it my mission to be the kind of supportive, approachable guide I wish I’d had back then. My personality is naturally calm and patient. I don’t believe in 'stupid' questions, and I pride myself on creating a non-judgmental space where you can feel comfortable making mistakes because that’s where the best learning actually happens. I’m here to be your cheerleader just as much as your tutor. When I’m not focused on Economics, I’m usually found in the gym or with friends. I’m a big believer in a healthy work-life balance, and I love bringing that same sense of curiosity and fun into everything I do. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you feel more confident!

*Rates vary: (Primary: £10, Secondary: £12, A-Level: £15 )* (Further) Mathematics Tuition (KS2- A-Levels): My Maths lessons range from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on the student’s needs, focus level, and goals. I aim to ensure students understand each topic thoroughly, and when relevant, how to understand mark schemes to secure as many marks as possible. I am skilled at breaking down complex chains of reasoning into clear, step-by-step explanations that are easy to follow. Using my iPad and laptop, I share my screen in real time to demonstrate detailed working-out and reinforce understanding. *I can only offer further mathematics tutoring for GCSE students* French Tuition (KS2 to GCSE): French is my first language, so in addition to teaching vocabulary and grammar, I help students improve their accent, fluency, and confidence when speaking. Lessons are interactive and adapted to each student’s level and goals—whether they need support with schoolwork, want to learn a language for fun, or are preparing for their exams. I incorporate dictation regularly as I have found it to be one of the most effective tools for improving grammar, listening, and spelling simultaneously. As with Maths, French lessons can range from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. I can set personalised homework after each lesson to reinforce learning and track progress. I'm also flexible with scheduling and happy to offer multiple lessons per week if students require additional support or wish to accelerate their learning.
