About Me and Why I Teach
My name is Thushara Wijerathne, and I am a Chartered Professional Engineer with over 15 years of experience in civil structural and geotechnical engineering. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, recognized by Engineers Australia. My career has involved working on large-scale government construction projects, including expressways, road improvement initiatives, and rehabilitation projects. My expertise spans the design and execution of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete, steel bridges, viaducts, culverts, and highway geometries.
Why I Want to Teach:
Teaching Maths and Physics is a passion of mine, driven by my desire to inspire and empower the next generation of students. Throughout my career, I have seen the critical role that a strong foundation in these subjects plays in achieving success in engineering and other STEM fields. I want to share my knowledge and experience to help students excel academically and develop a deep appreciation for the beauty and importance of Maths and Physics.
I believe that education is a powerful tool that can open doors to countless opportunities.
